Welcome to The Dolce Vita Social Club

It started the way most good things start: a few friends, a table, and a bottle of wine.

We are a group of people from different countries who ended up in Rome. Some of us moved here for work. Some followed a partner. Some just wanted to try living somewhere where the coffee is better and the pace is slower. What we all had in common was the same feeling: making friends as an adult, in a new country, is hard.

What We Actually Do

We organize free social events around Rome. Expat meetups at bars, language exchanges with board games, co-working afternoons where you can work alongside other remote workers and stay for aperitivo. No membership fees, no sign-up costs. You just show up and pay for what you eat and drink.

We focus on ages 25 to 39. We speak English. English-speaking Italians are welcome too. The vibe matters more than the number.

Why We Built This Site

Our community grew from word of mouth and Instagram. But we wanted a home base, somewhere people could find us, see what we are about, and know when the next event is happening. This site is that home base. For more details, see our guide on start with our moving guide. For more details, see our guide on digital nomad visa information. For more details, see our guide on find your ideal neighborhood. For more details, see our guide on making friends in Rome.

We will be posting stories, recommendations, and guides about living in Rome as a foreigner. The kind of stuff we wish someone had told us when we first arrived.

Come Say Hello

If you are in Rome and looking for people who get what it is like to build a life here, come to one of our events. Check our Instagram or Eventbrite for the next one. Come alone or bring a friend. We will take it from there.

Founded by expats who navigated the complexities of Roman life firsthand, Dolce Vita Roma fills the gap between tourist guides and official bureaucratic resources. Every guide is written from personal experience and regularly updated with current information, costs, and procedures.

Our community spans over 20 nationalities with members at every stage of their Rome journey. Whether you're researching your first visit, negotiating a rental contract, or celebrating your third year of residenza, you'll find people who understand exactly where you are.
